Day 6 - Round 1 - Phase 2 - Mission 1

Feeling a bit tired today. Ate heavy last night. Stuck to plans. Today is low carb, low fat, high protein, workout is cardio interval. Tomorrow is high carb, low protein, low fat, no workout. Yesterday was weight training. It was very difficult as I had only consumed about ten grams of carbs for the day when I went to the gym in the evening. Muscles felt hard and exhausted quickly.

I will be traveling on the job all of next week. I will need to carefully study and prepare for what to take along and how to work out.

Day 4 - Phase 1 - Mission 1

The metabolic surge is an amazing thing! Feeling great energy. The more I research Nick Nilssons plan the more I am conviced of some big mistakes that are made in the weight loss game. This is not rocket science. It is difficult to let go of old paradigms.

The key is in the cycling of highly nutitional foods and getting the carbs out. I know for sure that carbs are powerful and addictive. Fortuneately the solution will leave me feeling plenty full, and knowing that I am getting healthier.

Today is my last day to consume caffeine. After five days, I have weened myself off of it. The great thing is that I have plenty of energy and no need for it now.

beginnning weight 215 - Todays weight 208.

Day 1 of Mission 1 - Intent

Intent is the most powerful human condition. Nothing happens without it. And it all begins on the moment you make up your mind. Intent rules the world. My health will not be left to chance any longer. I will no longer allow myself to live by the whim of what tastes good for the moment.

So, I am now armed and dangerous. My web cam intanct, I am giving a personal daily account of how I will take my health seriously enough to change my lifestyle. THis time it is not just for a limited time. My goal has been set for a minimum of two years.

Mission 1 - Maximum fat loss while maintanining muscle. BFFM Burn the fat feed the muscle.

And yes the embassing pictures are taken and soon to be posted. Weight 215.

Stay with me and watch as I work toward the seemingly lofty goal of getting "Ripped at Fifty".

The Countdown Begins

Six days remain to get ready for the big trip to the shredder sphere. I have already received some comments of support. This is great to know.
I feel like I am packing for a journey that will be a whole new place for me, sort of like moving to a new home. I am mentally preparing myself for a trip that will have a distinctly different view of my environment and how I approach everyone and everything and myself. It is scaring, yet exiting at the same time.
With tomorrow being thanksgiving day - everyone focused on our feast, I will have in the back of my mind that the road to my health is starting soon - and that will be my daily focus.
Thank you fellow shredders and followers for joining in and allowing me to join you.
I will be ready on Dec. 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 2 Laying the Groundwork

So I'm busy reading myriad of info on how to get off to a flying start in the first Mission. I am not even halfway through the first book. Will be reading several. The training guides and eating schedule looks daunting. I will no doubt be consumed with this for the first couple weeks until I get into a routine. Learning this whole blog thing is challenging also. Got it up and running yesterday. Need to learn how to feed in other info and do pics and video next.

Getting Started - The Journey Begins

The goal for this blog is to create a public accountability for my approach to my own health. My first thought was to approach this entirely as a weight loss program. As I continue to research what healthy living is, I have realized that those who really make a change to have better bodies are in it for the long haul. Like most everyone I have gone through phases of high and low weight during my life. And of course it is during those healthier times of lower weight and greater activity that I look back with a certain envy of my health at that point.

Like everyone has felt at some point, I reflect back at more energy and stamina, better sleep, attitude toward life, confidence in my self, and an all around feeling of being in control of my world and myself.

This has lead me to challenge myself in what may be my best effort at self discipline than at any point of my life. For a man approaching fifty by next year, and a self diagnosed tendency of adult ADHD this will be somewhat of an accomplishment.

Because of this I will be breaking down my lifetime goals into stages, missions, and phases to allow myself to celebrate every opportunity for success. It is those little individual victories that make life a journey that is meaningful.

For those who know me - I hope that you will comment and encourage me. You all know the number of challenges I have been through. It has been extraordinary to say the least. I have been blessed with some outstanding family and friends that have always been accepting and loving. I am looking forward to meeting and hearing from new friends. Ultimately, I am hoping to be an encouragement to others as well.

Healthy living can mean many different things. My philosophy is centered around a spiritual core that will will guide me and serves as a basis to all of my values. With this in mind, my vision of health is one that includes body, mind, and soul. This blog will be mainly an account of a journey of attaining a healthy body. It will serve as a place to record the progress that I will make and give an account of "getting there". Although I do have a certain picture of what I believe that will look like, I also wish to give a full account of what I learn to do with my health beyond that picture.

Thank you for visiting my site.......
